When I first came here in the US, I realized that some of the elderly people want to live independently. They would rather stay in a small apartment all by themselves and have their own privacy while they still can and perhaps trying to avoid to get confined in a nursing home as much as possible. That’s what my hubby’s late aunt had done her entire life after being alone for a long time. Her husband died young and so were her kids.

She had lived up to 97 years. One thing’s for sure though when she was slowing down, she couldn’t take a shower because it was too dangerous that she might fell or trip getting into the bath tub. It would have been nice if a walk in tub like this one on the photo was installed at her home. She would have loved it.
