I can’t believe I just finished upgrading my WordPress in just few minutes. I’m fairly new to having a webhost and having this platform on this blog is kind of tricky as there are upgrades here and there. My Fantastico installer has the 2.3.2 version only, so I have to take it to the next level. Whatever that means, most bloggers do have to make an upgrade so as to take advantage of the latest features that are newly available. As I have read in one of my searches, it’s rather time-consuming and needs some thorough reading when making an upgrade. Of course, WordPress provides instructions on installation and upgrade to their users, but there are people who are actually developing ways to make it a lot better, faster, and easier and not to mention very painless!

Anyway, without further ado, I have upgraded from version 2.3.2 to WordPress 2.3.3 smoothly. I would suggest these steps to those who wanted to skip the long and winding detailed manual upgrade instruction. I pretty much used two plugins that helped made everything work in an instant.

How to upgrade WordPress 2.3.2 and older versions:

1. If you haven’t uploaded a Backup plugin to your server already, do it now.
2. Upload the InstantUpgrade plugin too.
3. Go to your WP Dashboard >Plugins, then activate both plugins you just uploaded and extracted in your server.
4. After the activation of both plugins, go to Manage>Backup. Select the tables that you want to save in your computer. Backup!
5. When the backups are all through, click InstantUpgrade tab. If you want to avoid the configuration of FTP, choose HTTP instead on how you would want the upgrade to perform and you should be ready for upgrade.
6. Choose - The latest and greatest, please or type in Version 2.3.3 on the space provided.
7. Upgrade my WordPress! You should see Version 2.3.3 on your Dashboard’s footnote.
