The Magic Only A Mother Can Do

I am always fascinated how my baby gets his nap after rocking him and singing him a lullaby. I don’t have the singing talent and I don’t know a single common lullaby, but humming. Yes, I only hum and sometimes just mumble some funny tunes. As a first time mom, the beginning wasn’t that easy. The first month was really tough for me. Nursing, diaper change, incision pain - as I had c-section and sleepless nights were just some of the agonies, yet rewarding challenges if not all, some mothers had experienced.

As I have mentioned in a previous post, babies love to be touched. As I rock my baby to sleep, I put my palm on his face and it just acts like a tranquilizer. A smile on his face while shutting his eyes is just a joy for a mother who wants to do the house chores. Besides that, I can relax myself or do the things I want to do in my spare time. The soothing voice and comforting touch of a mother is like a magic spell.
