He Can Laugh

Yes, our boy laughed for the first time today. It was an amazing experience as a mom. It just melted my heart. He now gurgles and coos. Every morning, he is our alarm clock, because he gets so alert and noisy it echoes in our bedroom. Being as sleep deprived as I can become, I enjoy everytime I wake up just to take care of him. Boy, he almost outgrown his bassinet and pretty soon he will be moving into a crib in his own room. I wonder if I can sleep all night long without him next to our bed. He has grown so fast my lean arms can’t hold him longer than I used to. Whenever he cries while his dad plays with him, he stops right away when I get him. John then asks me,”Why does he stop crying as soon as you hold him and I can’t cheer him up?”. Well, that’s just one of the miracles moms can do to their own child. I now appreciate more what it’s like when my mom had me.

If you get lucky, you’ll catch the baby dreaming and smiling/laughing in his sleep. this happens pretty soon…a lot sooner than you’d think. congratulations.
