The 12th Week

This is the 12th week of my pregnancy and I had my 2nd prenatal visit this morning. It was surprising to see a big change from the first visit to this time of the fetus’ development. It is really amazing to be able to see on the sonogram the baby’s profile while it’s in the womb. The spine, fingers, legs and the forming head are just some of it’s recognizable parts.
The procedure wasn’t bad at all, at least it was accomplished and I am expecting for more tests in the next visit. I didn’t realize that doctors make such a big deal on lab tests and everything about pregnancy in this country. The first precaution given on the first visit was to avoid eating fish with high mercury content and just eat moderately on what most people tell you to avoid. And there goes the NT screening of today’s visit, which took at least 30 minutes depending on the baby’s position if cooperating properly for the doctor to see the profile in a good angle. Well, the doctor finally got a nice shot at the end though the fetus inside me seemed too excited when the ultrasound procedure was executed. He was jumping, swimming and just couldn’t stay in one position. It was funny when he turned his back and the doctor had the ultrasound probe all over my tummy just to get the fetus in the right position. It was another exciting episode of my womanhood.

While John and I were at the waiting area, I just couldn’t stop looking at the babies who were there with their mothers. I couldn’t shy away from imagining myself to be just like those moms carrying their babies in the future.

Son, dili pa man ma-determine ang gender sa bata that’s why “he” ako gamit since it’s a general term for something neutral just like the way the doctor says it and in some articles and books about pregnancy. Hehehe. It doesn’t really matter kung girl or boy basta jud normal ug healthy ug liwat sa nagligwat ok na - dili lang moliwat sa silingan. Hahaha!’
Smile nalang jud si John permi kay aron pampabata. Inat-inat sa wrinkles.

Ghie, thanks for the add. Just keep in touch. Excited ko gamay kay layo pa kaayo akong byahe. Kamo sab, paghimo namo aron taas inyo agi samtang may lana pa.
