I Now Announce, "I’m Pregnant"
Published by kept-posted June 4th, 2006 in Uncategorized.
Yes, I’m pregnant. This might be too early to tell the world that I am. While most couple think this has to be done on the fourth month of the pregnancy, we just couldn’t keep a secret out of excitement and pride. I am hopeful that everything will be fine. Am I that ready for motherhood? I bet I am brave, huh? I’m pretty sure the human instinct to mother a child will eventually follow after the baby is brought to the light of the world and that I look forward to.
The 8th week-old embryo
Recently, my husband and I went to the OB/GYN for a first prenatal check-up weeks after I took a home pregnancy test and indeed found out we’re expecting. It was an amazing experience to see on the sonogram the beating of a tiny little heart of the embryo inside my womb. What amazed us more was listening to the beating. A dramatic one! I admit it was my first doctor’s visit that I was supposed to have gone through before which I wasn’t so excited about as I am a very shy person. Regular check-up for the cervix ideally at least once a year for most women in this country is a must.
Funny Mr. Specky
Alright, I met Mr. Specky (speculum) for the first time and I was nervous yet a funny thought about such tool made me laugh a bit. Whew! It was for sure the most thorough medical process for a woman. I was relieved a bit after everything was done but I know, it’s a long way to go before the final judgment of this mysterious development of a new life.
How I wish I had documented the days or weeks when morning sickness struck me. I dreaded the sickness so much because I just couldn’t eat right. I got too picky and whenever I like what I ate I threw it up instantly. And the smell of a savory, spicy and aromatic food just led me to the sink in no time. I thought I was losing weight.
As of this time, getting nauseated is not so bad anymore but it still happens. I look forward to the end of it hopefully soon. As excited as most of the people in the family, everyone gets to suggest names even the gender of my baby can’t be detected so far. Well, I have no idea what names I would prefer. I don’t make a list. Oh my, I just don’t want a name that is common nor popular.

hi angie, congrats to you and john! am very happy for both of you… just take it easy lang gyud. no heavy lifting… and take extra careful… remember, you’re carrying an angel in your womb.
enjoy your journey… you will be amazed as time goes by! (smile)
